Preview of January City Council Meeting

In tonight's Searcy City Council meeting, our new Mayor David Morris will oversee discussion of four main issues:
  • The reappointment of three individuals to the Searcy Planning Commission
  • A drainage ordinance
  • An ordinance for a 2010 year-end budget adjustment
  • An ordinance regarding "Mayor's retirement"
The full January agenda for the meeting is available in the City Clerk portion of the Searcy.com Web site.

In addition, planning for the 2011 budget is underway with one budget meeting held after last Thursday's agenda meeting, and another one scheduled to precede the 7 P.M. regularly scheduled City Council meeting tonight. Charting the financial course for this fiscal year could be a challenge considering the city only had $223,432.90 on hand in the general fund at the end of December 2010 after $433, 904.64 of the general fund was spent during December. See the November 2010 and December 2010 city financial statements for details.
